Florida

Every Thanksgiving our family and Fred's family drive to Florida to spend about two weeks there with his friend Sam who has already retired. We always have such a great time playing in the water and having clam bakes.

Sam is a very nice person too and he has accepted us as part of his family. He lives right on the Ocean and we have three friends that live in the ocean. They are called Whaley, Little Dolphin, and Grey. Whaley and Grey are whales and obviously Little Dolphin is a Dolphin. Sam watches over them so that no one can catch them or hurt them. Naturally, there is a story behind this as well.

We had heard that a whale was found along the shore of New York and it wasn't safe for him to be there but no one knew what to do. So, we took a trip to New York and I talked to him. Being a teddy bear certainly has its benefits since I can talk to animals that humans can't. Well, we drove along the entire coast of the Ocean and Whaley followed us until we got him to Sam's place. While traveling, we bumped into Grey and Little Dolphin who were also living in areas that weren't safe so Whaley talked them into following too.

Now they happily play in the Ocean and they even help Sam with his fishing that he loves to do. They know the best spots for fishing. Sam has a rope attached to his little boat and Whaley grabs it and pulls Sam along the Ocean so he doesn't have to paddle or use a motor. When we visit, Whaley pulls us around in the boat too. We are so small that Grey and Little Dolphin even let us sit on their backs while they take us for a ride. They always watch out for us and we watch out for them. If any strangers come by, they hide and all of us just stay in the boat and pretend that nothing is going on. No one knows about Whaley and his friends and we want to keep it that way. So, please don't tell - okay? Another thing we do is hide M&Ms for them along the bottom of the ocean - near the shore. They love to hunt for them. Sam keeps them well supplied when we aren't visiting. Don't worry "Yellow", they don't eat M&Ms. They aren't good for animals to eat! Chocolate isn't good for any animals and I hope you never give it to your pet.

It is always sad when we leave our friends in Florida but we know we will see them all again next year.
